Whether you are looking forward to meeting new friends or simply taking it easy, Heritage Gardens offers tranquillity, comfort and security.

Heritage Gardens abounds with activities and events for our residents. The Social Club travels to a different restaurant every month for lunch and the community regularly celebrates special events with a meal in the community hall. Indoor Bowls, a game of Pool, Bingo, Cards, Mah-Jong or a craft group are conducted throughout the week or if you are a little more active you can maintain or improve your level of fitness by joining in Steady Steps program every Monday morning. For a gentler form of exercise, the pool is a popular place to work out in the Water Aerobics class or just catch up with other keen swimmers. If walking is more your style then team up with our early morning walkers and get out and explore our suburb. Many residents utilise the large Park area next door to walk their dogs. Earlville Shopping Town, which is just across the road, offers a great alternative around their complex for those who need a flat walking surface.

“Whilst at Earlville Shopping Town you can enjoy a coffee, take in a movie or just just shop in one of Cairn’s largest shopping centres which features Coles, Woolworths, Big W, Target, Birch Carroll and Coyle, Post Office, Banks and so much more.

Our social club organises regular outings in the region, including monthly luncheons around the town, bus tours and other excursions. There is so much to see in and around Cairns.

Relax in the comfort of your air-conditioned unit or villa, and share time with special friends at home. If you want to read, our well-stocked air-conditioned library and our lounge are delightful spots to while away the hours, chatting and having a “free” cup of tea or coffee or a glass of your favorite while reading the newspaper or meeting friends. Tune into the free Wi Fi and download a movie.

Cairns CBD is only ten minutes drive away and is home to numerous Restaurants, International Hotels, the Cairns Aquarium, and is the jump off point for the Great Barrier Reef Fleet. Beyond lie the Atherton Tablelands with their quaint villages, rolling countryside, restaurants, wineries, farmlands – and spectacular views. Head north and discover Port Douglas just an hour away and the fascinating Daintree Village is an easy 30 minute drive past Port. The drive along the Cook Highway from Cairns has stunning views of the Coral Sea coastline and is one of the must do drives on your bucket list. There is plenty of accommodation for a weekend of tropical rainforest exploration and you can take a river tour to look for crocodiles! Four hours drive via conventional vehicle to the north of Cairns is historical Cooktown. See where James Cook landed and spend a night or two in this pristine area. From here you can head North or West and discover Weipa and Cape York and even get a selfie standing on the tip of Queensland.

Of course, the iconic World Heritage reef system is just a short trip offshore. Boat trips are available to visit beautiful Green Island or Fitzroy Island. Both offer overnight accommodation if you want to stay and explore in more detail. There are also day trips to Michaelmas Cay, a small sandy island a little to the north of Cairns. All offer fabulous clear waters, shallow corals and vibrantly beautiful fish for anyone who wants to don a snorkel and goggles.
